GamerLegion and Yellow Submarine battle for the final spot at Dota 2 EPL Masters

EPL Masters III is approaching its conclusion, with GamerLegion and Yellow Submarine set to clash in a best-of-three lower-bracket final. Yellow Submarine earned another shot at reaching the grand final after dropping to the lower bracket following their defeat to Natus Vincere in the upper-bracket final.

As a Tier 3 Dota 2 tournament, EPL Masters III primarily features teams that rarely get the opportunity to compete in the game’s biggest events. Still, the competition offers a platform for rising talent to make a name for themselves, with promising players represented by teams such as Yellow Submarine, HILUGANI, Natus Vincere, and LEGION.

GamerLegion vs. Yellow Submarine at EPL Masters III: Who got the edge?

In EPL’s lower bracket final matchup, GamerLegion so far has the advantage over Yellow Submarine in terms of momentum and experience. The North American team recently finished 3rd place at PARI Universe, beating high-caliber teams like Team Liquid, OG, and 1w Team. GamerLegion also participated in other top competitions after TI 15, such as BLAST SLAM 8 and PGL Wallachia Season 9.

Yellow Submarine, however, should not be underestimated. Under the management of Team Spirit, the CIS team became the incubator of talent in the region, producing a new generation of world-class players like Alan “Satanic” Gallyamov and Bohdan “Batyuk” Batiuk.

Both teams in the lower bracket final of EPL Masters III experience their respective setbacks in the tournament, with Yellow Submarine losing to Natus Vincere at the upper bracket final, while GamerLegion falls earlier in the lower bracket after Natus Vincere takes them down.

NAVI appears to be in top shape all around the tourney, defeating every team in their path to the grand final without dropping a single match. Despite their disappointing performance at PARI Universe, the young lineup, mostly made up of players in their early 20s, has already shown plenty of potential with runner-up finishes at PGL Wallachia Season 9 and BLAST SLAM 6.

EPL Masters III match schedules and updates

Dota 2 EPL Masters III is down to its final two series: the lower-bracket final and the grand final. GamerLegion and Yellow Submarine will face off in the lower-bracket final, which will follow the best-of-three format used throughout the tournament. The grand final will be the only best-of-five series, with the winner claiming the championship.

The teams that have already been eliminated from the playoffs include HILUGANI in fourth place, OG and CyberHero in fifth to sixth, and LEGION and Nemiga Gaming in seventh to eighth.
