Studio Atelico has kicked off a closed beta for its upcoming turn-based creature card-and-dicebrawler, Bobium Brawlers, now live on iOS. First announced back in February 2026, the game puts its proprietary on-device AI technology and custom AI models at the centre of its creature creation system.
Create your own creatures and take them into battle
If you missed it earlier, Bobium Brawlers is a card-and-dice brawler with a pretty unusual idea. Instead of simply playing the game, you get to help create it. As a rookie scientist, you can describe the kind of creature you want in up to 140 characters to generate its appearance, attributes, and abilities. You can then build a deck around them and take part in Bobium Brawler League.
But don’t worry, according to the dev team, the creatures are designed to stay competitively balanced despite being generated differently, combining handcrafted game design with AI-generated elements. The actual battles blend card-based abilities with dice rolls in quick 1v1 matches, so you need to think quickly, chain abilities, and make the most of the options in front of you.
I do like how the quirky and silly narrative events add some personality outside of combat. That said, I’m sure many will hesitate to try the game because of the use of AI, but the team says it follows a human-first approach, with its art team training a custom model alongside a deck generation model and compensating artists involved in the process. I will try it as long as the game is fun.
Bobium Brawlers is now live on iOS with its first closed beta. If you’re interested, you can join the beta by subscribing with your email through the official website. Stay tuned for more updates regarding the official launch, which is planned for this year.
